Aqua Spirit Club Launches Full CMAS Finswimming Programme

Starting this May, Aqua Spirit Club offers a structured finswimming pathway from absolute beginner to competition-ready athlete — the first of its kind in Hanoi.

We are proud to announce the full launch of our CMAS-aligned finswimming programme, which begins accepting students in May 2025. This programme fills a gap that has long existed in Hanoi's aquatic sports landscape.

What Is Finswimming? Finswimming is a competitive aquatic sport governed by CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques). Athletes swim with bifins or a monofin at the surface or underwater, and competitions follow strict rules comparable to those of conventional swimming meets. It is an Olympic-recognised discipline with a World Championship circuit.

Why We Built This Programme Head coach and CMAS instructor Minh spent three years training in Italy and France before returning to Vietnam. "There were students already interested in finswimming, but no structured pathway to get them from beginner to competition-ready," he explains. "We wanted to change that."

Programme Structure The programme follows a four-level pathway: • Finswimming Foundation: surface technique, bifin selection, basic dolphin kick • Intermediate: monofin introduction, surface racing technique, basic apnea • Advanced: competition preparation, race strategy, underwater events • Competition Track: full CMAS competition preparation and race calendar

Each level takes approximately 12 weeks with two sessions per week. Students moving through all four levels will be equipped to compete in the SF50, SF100 and BF50 disciplines.

Enrolment The programme accepts students from age 12. Adult beginner cohorts also start in May. Contact us through the Programmes page for a placement assessment.
